Press Reviews
Vanna White 7"-nice suprise! A strong politically oriented band...they have put out their own record and that's fucking great. So is the record. We have some heavy Crass influences here-but in a good way. Lotsa temp changes with up front vocals you can hear and aware lyrics you can sing along to. This is a really cool record-Flipside. Socal hardcore with a brain-I like it! These garblecratik dudes throw all caution to the wind and attack such issues as war, ecological genocide and vivisection. Good job-Profane Existance. Thoughtful anarchist band covers such political concerns as ecology, anti-warism and anti-authoritarianism. The music is mostly thrash with slower parts mixed in to make room for the obnoxious satirical vocals-Maximum Rock N Roll.8 7"- most of the songs are stop-and-go thrash songs that have typical fast-slow-fast temp. There's a couple of interesting musical parts here and there, but overall it's simple and loud. The lyrics are a mixture of humor and anarchism-MRR. This is their second 7" this year and it is just as kickin' as the first. These guys are down for the struggle. They bust out the jams, disin' all over Shell Oil and vivisectors and outright ignorance. They totally harsh on the medical administration and expose it for the farce it really is. With the words and ideas well thought out and expressed, and an "old school" beat, this makes this 7" complete and worthwhile, two times! There's even a bluesy song titled "anarchist blues" which is too true, talkin' bout all the sucks out there. Ya, these guys bust out the dope jams and the dope attitude. I should mention they have a humorous edge to the lyrics. Great fuckin' package all together!-Profane Existence. True Anarcho-punk here on the second single release for GARBLECRAT (insightful name). Some songs are fast, some are not, all break the rules or talk about going against the system. This is the essence of do-it-yourself with a sense of humor. There's a likeable spirit to this record and most songs have something wise to muse over; subjects such as corporate medicine, our throw-away society and Shell Oil's investments in rascism. Effort worth supporting-Ben Is Dead. |
