Artist description
Three MP3.com Top Forty songs and supporter of local bands such as fevertree and Winnie Zepruter. After all that, James M. Cornett is putting his "Semaj Transcon" days behind him, instead choosing more interesting ideas. His music is still downloadable, and CDs containing exclusive songs are still available, including the final Transcon mini-CD, "15:01" |
 |
Music Style
Simple electronic music. Can't get much more of a style than that. |
 |
Musical Influences
Eminem, DJ Xealot, Eiffel 65, Ace of Base, the composer of the Final Fantasy series, and Aqua. He's also a big fan of Seal. |
 |
Similar Artists
Robert Miles in the early stages, but now his style resembles Darude in some ways. |
 |
Artist History
'Semaj Transcon' has been getting accolades from local as well as national artists. Promotional label Minnesota Coalition Records hosted Transcon on their label until it disbanded in mid-2001, and many have approved of Transcon's 'game theme like' sounds. In '15:01', his latest, he takes the sound to a new extreme, making tracks you'd think were mistakes. |
 |
Group Members
James M. Cornett is the sole writer and mixer for the project. |
 |
Instruments
A computer, samples created from scratch, and one twisted creative spark. |
 |
Albums
All previous Semaj Transcon records will continue to be up. |

Press Reviews
"The techno/dance genres are not ones I'm normally fond of, but concept [of "Dreaming of a Royal Forest"] just overwhelmed me, and your production is just so tasty!...I like the instrumentation choices, there's a lot of dimension and depth, without a lot of unnecessary pounding."--Phil Traynor, www.mp3.com/llarion |
 |
Additional Info
Semaj's last work, "North Manchester", is a mere taste of what to expect from the new projects. |
