Artist description
J. Obvious, Jeff B and a cast of various collaborators bring you the best in electronic mind tripping. Experimental rhythmics and tonalities, poly-rhythm/syncopations, floating textures. Using computers, synths, samplers, live instruments, and an array of custom electronic goodies. We see computer generated/electronic music to be an end in itself, it's own artform, with it's own basis of reality. Brought to you by Electromagnet Records and Hugh Jass Productions |

Artist History
Jeff B, the founding member, started with the guitar at age 16, playing standard heavy stuff. It wasnt long before the experimental stuff started with tape and electronics. 1981 brought about his first electronic music class, and first unbridled use of a wall sized ARP synth. Building his own electronic instruments started the following year. More standard stuff was happening all along, throughout the 80's jeff B worked as a percussionist ( drummer, heh ) on a few heavy music projects. Later,a couple of years as bass player for Popular Sex and Freedomquest. In the mid 90s was the drummer for Muscle Factory, playing lots of Philadelphia area clubs... ALL the while, in the dark laboratories, J. Obvious was secretly at work on the electronic visions. The collaborators are mostly members of the bands they've worked with over the years. |
