    Press Reviews
Both reviews from the mighty FRACTURE FANZINE.ONE CAR PILE-UP - "Dr Robotnik" 7".Hey, I got to tell you this... on the day Princess Diana got sprayed across the Merc's dashboard, ONE CAR PILE-UP played an afternoon gig in a rainy park. Was a band name ever more appropriate? How we laughed! And how these same geeks have turned out a wonderful Ep of melodic h/c, awash with choppy guitars, steamroller drums and more than a few nods towards the PROPAGANDHI encampment. All three songs will just dig themselves straight into your head and drive some hefty hooks into your brain with the subtlety of an irate shark. Unquestionably up there as one of my favourite British h/c bands, but I still wonder why the guitarist pretends to be American? (RR) [online postscript: the American joke is now over and done with... Chris the guitarist is actually Canadian, doesn't like to be called American (who would? heh) and is a very nice person indeed. So the over-used American gag ends here. Full stop.] DAMAGED GOODS. ONE CAR PILE-UP - "Police Academy" 7" Ep.Three new tracks from the kids over the river and they're three new winners. ONE CAR PILE-UP are still one of my favourite British punk bands, they're powerful but tuneful, political but fun, fast but tight and dumb with all of it. I kinda wish that their songs weren't quite to catchy and hookladen though, I would have gotten this review done in half the time if I wasn't drumming along on the desk and oohing and aahing at the appropriate moments. Gotta say though that the production (or at least the mix) on the first track sucks poop, things are all askew, but the other two tracks soon pick this up. I also know someone who swears the guitar line on the last song is lifted from an old IRON MAIDEN song, and what more could you want? The best melodic HC in the UK, probably. (RR) CRACKLE!
