Artist History
Chuck Martin has been singing and playing guitar since his early teens and has entertained all over the southeast. Opening for such groups as the Doobie Brothers, and Steve Wariner, he has played every style of music in venues from clubs to coliseums. Besides playing with numerous local and regional bands, Chuck has worked as a session guitarist with the legendary Ray Stevens in Nashville. He also performs solo,with a full band. He has been involved in two productions of "A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline" at the Barn Dinner Theatre in Greensboro, N.C., Hank Williams "The Lost Highway",and "Always Patsy Cline at The Broach Theatre also in Greensboro. Chuck is currently Managing Producer at the new Centennial Station Dinner Theatre in High Point, N C
"GROUND CHUCK" is a diverse mixture of country, rock, bluegrass, easy listening ,gospel, and pop. This CD is a combination of original songs written by Chuck, along with the cover of a song he co-wrote with Ray Stevens,
" The Feeling's Not Right Again". (Ray Stevens Music BMI) It was also on Ray's albums " I Need Your Help Barry Manilow", and " The Feeling's Not Right Again", Warner Brothers Records. By request from many of his fans,we have included his own rendition of Lee Greenwood's " God Bless The USA". There are two songs on the CD that were written by Chuck's father, " Slim" Martin who was a country music entertainer , DJ, and the founder of Skatter Records and Edgewood Publishing Company. We hope you enjoy this CD.
