Artist History
Inspired by the rock/hip-hop crossover stuff of the mid '80s (Run DMC, Big Audio Dynamite), I decided I wanted to make music combining my favourite elements of different genres. By the end of the '80s I had become influenced by early house, acid, techno, and the Manchester indie/dance scene, and a couple of years later got into jungle/drum'n'bass. By the mid '90s, I was playing guitar in a grunge/punk band. It was around this time I first got my hands on some (basic) electronic equipment, and started dabbling in dance music production. So when our drummer left, he was promptly replaced with a drum machine and I started experimenting, mixing punk and electronica. Beat Conspiracy came into being in January 2000 |
