    Artist History
1/2 Mad Poet was conceived in the fall of 1995 in a tiny sweaty attic in Wichita, KS- the entertainment mecca of Karaoke. Playing loud rock music was one of the only ways to cover up the screeching and wailing of a thousand would-be stars in the local bars. The line up of the band has remained the same throughout their career except for the replacement of former drummer, Rhea Sewell, with the formidable talents of Janet Cramer. The band started out playing dirty puke-smelling bars for little or no pay. They have since traveled the country playing for larger clubs, casinos, festivals and fairs, including the 1998 Lilith Fair. The band has opened for a number of nationally known acts including: Joan Jett, Sugar Ray, Marcy Playground, and Weird Al Yankovich. Currently, the band has released one CD titled "Ain't I a Woman!?!" and are hard at work on their second, due to be released some time in 2001.
