Artist History
With this MP3.COM page, I am using their services as an archive. In 1991, The Doolittle Flickers released their only tape, "Oh Yeah!" The two members of The Flickers were Chris Chapman and, myself, Chris Fitts. Both of us had worked on many creative projects since we met in high school early in the 1980s. We created our first group, Happy Cow, right after we graduated. A couple of years later, we released a recording project call Ocarina Panacea. We published our absurd experimental literary magazine, "Fred's Wonderful Newsletter," bimonthly from 1986 to 1990. Our "Doolittle Flicker" style was first experimented with on our 1987 tape "Fred's Hardy Audio Cassette." For several months in 1990, Chris and I got together and recorded, on a small 4 track, what would become The Doolittle Fuckers. We decided that we would change the name slightly on an outside label wrapped around the cassette... THE DOOLITTLE FLICKERS would be seen (the "L" and "I" could be easily connected at the bottom to form a "U"). We had a good bit of experience with distributing "Explicit Material" in the uptight southeast USA. I decided to use the name "FLICKERS" on this mp3.com page - otherwise, it would be quarantined to the "Adults Only" area... and I didn't want that. Soon after we released "Oh Yeah!" I moved to another state. Chris and I never produced any more Doolittle Fuckers. Unfortunately, we can't now. Chris Chapman died in early 1997. Just one Fucker left, I'm afraid. |
