Artist History Profil Shunyam:We are all travellers of illusions blinded by some sight we hope to get out of confusion to find a wonderland of life. This lyrics from Shunyam out of his song "Travelling" are putting him in the tradition of spiritual bardes - but his music cames along in the face of an modern songwriter and performer.We find 10 songs on his new CD "True face" and they tell us from the confusion in life and the search for freedom and peace, love and light, dreams and nature and the hope for a better humaity, if we find our self in the grace of the divine and the understanding of the wheel of life.This music is rocky and relaxing and because of this mixture, very swinging and at the same moment silent and deep.Born in the south of germany as Joachim Körber and through the inspiration of his guitarplaying father, he began to play guitar at the age of 12. Several school-bands resulted and in 1979 - 81 the guitar-duo Himmelfahrt (The ascencion) was formed together with the guitarist Helmut Bail, instrumental songs and ballads. The lyrics where inspired by the Visions of Jakob Lorber. Out of his interest in Yoga and Meditation he went on his first trip to India 1980 and he experienced a new musical dimension. During his visit in Rishikesh he was introduced to Oliver Shanti, at that time known as Ulrich Schulz, and he became part of his band INKARNATION 1982 - 86.1986 - a change of style through the formation of the rockbandON THE AIR (rockballads soul and funk).Two years later he sets up together with Chilean musicians a multicultural bilingual folkrockband- EXPEDITION. The CD Christopher Columbus was released. 1989 - first solo pieces and the formation of an acoustic rock groupJO & AND THE COMPANIONS (ballads and instrumentals).(MTV`s Unplugged wasen`t alive yet)1991 - reborn in OSHO Ashram Poona/India as a Sannyasin "Swami Bodhi Shunyam"1992 - leaves "Expedition" and disbands "Jo & the Companions" in order to satisfy his thirst for further actions and devot himself to his first soloalbum JO SHIRO SHUNYAM - BETWEEN TWO WORLDS. (Instrumentals)1993 - he recorded with the keybordplayer Dan Floyd (Exmember of ON THE AIR) an album called Dan Floyd - STARS, MOON,FISH1994 - the old Indian-connection came alive again, and together with four other world-musicians friends, HAMSAFAR was formed.This band released the album LIFEPRINTS.An instrumental worldmusic-trip from Bombay to New York and back.1997 - in India under the love and support of an living Master, Sri H.W.L. Poonja, he rememberd his talents as a songwriter and poet to express his love and light, about the wonder of life. This leaded him to produce an spiritual popalbum called SHUNYAM "TRUE FACE". ----- New album "JOY" out now !!!-----
