ANDREW McCUTCHEONOut of the Lion's Mouth (Plum Meat Music)Second Sun(Plum Meat Music)Jim Morrison, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Beck, Kula Shaker, The Beatles, DavidByrne, The Moody Blues, Nick Cave, Beastie Boys. No. I'm not making alaundry list of my favorite artists. I'm listing the myriadof musical influences that prominently inform the work of New Oxford, PAbased ANDREW McCUTCHEON. Since his teens, McCUTCHEON has recorded originalmusic steeped in existential poetry and eclectic psychedelic shadings. Hisdebut, Out of the Lion's Mouth, captures the mystical essence of JimMorrison's darkest epic poems and melds them with funk-rhythm tracks tomake them almost danceable. His follow-up, Second Sun, takes thisflattering imitation further and ventures off into a Bowiesque/MoodyBluesyaural tapestry. "Never Break A Psycho's Heart" is funny and perceptive inits twisted frankness ('”never break a psycho's heart, you'll end up in aditch in the dark”), but it's his meandering poetry and unabashedwillingness to be off-kilter, kitschy and keen (on insight) that makes hisliterary music such a pleasure. Different, but familiar, ANDREW McCUTCHEONis corny with class. An interesting combination. - Roxannecontact - Plum Meat Music 717-624-0419 or email Plummeat@Juno.comExtreme Productions - Greg Campbell134 1/ 2 Grass Ave, St. Catharines, ON L2R 1T4 ...or...PMB 210, 2316 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14216phone 905.646.7447 fax 905.682.8154www.extreme-online.comebay user id - extreme99EXTREME MAGAZINE - S.
