Artist description
I like messing around with weird sounds and effects(wah drums, tremelo vox, distorted keys, etc). I especially enjoy doing unconventional things with conventional instruments. I essentially sit down at my four-track and play an idea i have on whatever instrument. i'll usually keep on playing either until i get bored, the tape runs out, or it gets to 200 on the counter. then i'll do somethingelse on tracks 2, 3, and 4. sometimes i'll take the tracks i've already recorded out of the monitor mix so the track i'm doing is more independent. if it sounds dead i'll add a fat drum beat to pick it up or throw in a few weird effects. i really don't think about what i'm doing and i never do more than one take on a track. i tend to like music that has a lot of great mistakes in it, although i theoretically don't have mistakes becausei don't plan what i'm doing in the frist place. i like a raw, bad take quality sound with noise in the background. for instance i'll put a record on in the back ground while i record so i don't get bored with my riff. |

Artist History
Kitty Tricks started as a 1st year university music assignment on orchestration, scale, and time signatures. the two original songs seem almost normal compared to what i've done since. i've basically tried to push the limits of whatever i consider to be music for my friends and my own listening. i really try to abandon any preconceptions of what i've been told music is. |

Additional Info
i'd like to thank my girlfriend/promoter Steph for organizing this and overall supporting me. also, i had to have a peniscope once - don't ask. it was no bigger than the size of a pen (i mean the scope). |
