    Artist History
I suppose I am the ideal person to delve into the history of this band...I was here from the start. The question is where to start...In the beginning there were two, well three really. As you might know, my fellow band-mates and I live in Greenville Texas (incidentally not the most exciting of places). As any creative teens might, we had self-entertainment down to an art. Some nights would be filled with mischief and merriment (involving roadside cones and relatively large city roads...but we will not be going into all that) while others were spent in the confines of the house of our choice (watching movies and the like). One evening two friends of mine (Tommy Poulter and Brian Mizell) talked me into attempting to, for the soul purpose of entertainment and humor, write a song consisting of simple rhythms, chord changes, and seemingly nonsensical lyrics...how could I refuse? The end result was a silly, yet suprisingly popular, "Asteroid of Love". Okay, hang on, because what happened because of this one song gets a little confusing. The original trio did not produce and more songs but Brian and I went on to create a few and once both Tommy and Brian left Greenville I found a new partner in creative disrepute. David Peron and I were the mainstay for the band for the next two or three years. The two of us created several new songs and expanded some of the previous ones. Believe it or not I was not singing lead at this time. David was lead, yours truly was back up and bass, and Nick Jones was our guitarist. Nick left early on due to creative differences (my way of saying that I think he was a little bit of a baby for never REALLY telling us why he did not wish to play with us anymore) but David and I pressed on relentlessly. In ’95 our present bassist joined the crew, the Drake-man himself. At this point I took over on guitar and we set our sights on finding a drummer. We found him in the form of the always smiling Austin Price (a sometimes annoying trait I must say). I must add here that before Austin joined Drake’s father was our stand-in drummer but with a band of his own, and the apparent generation gap, we felt it best to search for a more prime candidate. With the band FINALY formed we began making plans to grab the Greenville music scene by the head and kick it in...if you can not hear the sarcasm I pity you (the Greenville music scene consists of one place..."Chauncy’s Place"). I do not want to demean, however, the importance of Chauncy’s giving nature in letting us play there. The minor popularity that we gained at Chauncy’s was a great encouragement. In ’97, much to our dismay, David left our merry band and I was forced to snag the leftover spotlight (can you feel my pain). We continued to play at Chauncy’s, as well as any other place we could manage, but our big break came when we won the Honey Grove "Davey Crockett Day" contest (thank you Primal Groove for sucking so bad that day). I know what you are thinking..."Honey Grove...Davey Crockett Day?!?!" but the end result was Daily25 being a LOT richer; enough so that we were able to finally afford to cut a demo. A cut we did, which brings us to the present. Jason Miears as lead vocalist and guitarist, Drake as backup vocalist and bassist, and Austin Price as drummer and all-around likable guy. We have enjoyed no luxury, however, and we are seeing now how difficult it really is to get noticed out there; but we will keep writing, keep playing, and keep performing as long as you keep listening...and maybe even if you don’t...after all, we began as a distraction from boredom and we are at least good at that. Now...go kick a dog or something, or don’t you have better things to do but sit here and read the inane ramblings of a no-name speck on this pudgy little planet we call Shnarflgumlin....I mean Earth. =) -Jason
