Press Reviews
The idea: "An original Soundtrack for the OXYGENE-4-ALL Campaign was created by Vangelis from Greece. Before we knew what happened someone made a remix of the soundtrack called 'The Mondayclub Remix'.When we asked the composer why he choose this name, he stated: 'Well I made it on a Monday' :). After a while more people became very enthusiastic about the original and wanted to create a Remix of it. Thus the idea emerged to develop an audio CD with 8 tracks. The original Soundtrack and 7 Remixes, one for every day of the week. The Project: 'The Cocktail Remix' was born. We want to keep the Cocktail Remix CD Uncopyrighted and Non-Profitable, because the creator of the original made his Soundtrack Uncopyrighted and Non-Profitable too." (From JMJ Studiomagazine - Cocktail Remix Project - 1997) ---- The outcome: As far as we know the Cocktail Remix CD is still not available. Unfortunately the team from JMJ Studiomagazine (the Cocktail Remix team) thought that our artist was way "too professional and commercial". This was probably due to the pressure that the Jura Management Team addressed to the Cocktail Remix team to get the contractual agreements round-up before the record would be released. As it took more than a year for the Cocktail Remix team to respond to our requests for information (any reaction would have been nice but nothing whatsoever happened), we decided to take the remixes out of the project. At the same time we were told by the Cocktail Remix team that our artist did no longer comply to the profile of - and idea behind - the project and that his remixes were rejected. No further explanation was given. A year earlier however, we received a great lot of compliments regarding the remixes and we were assured our artist would participate with two (!) remixes... In January 2000 we decided that (in the same spirit as the original remix-project) the remixes should be available to everyone who enjoys the music of Jean-Michel Jarre. After all, it was the fan-rage by Adam Land that made him want to participate in the first place. If the Cocktail Remix CD is actually going to be produced sometime in the future, we wish the team from JMJ Studiomagazine all the best, whatever will happen/happened.
