    Artist History
When The KLF's Bill Drummond torched a million pounds in front of stunned music journalists in 1992, he put his subversive hit machine effectively to rest. Unfortunately, itwould be years before anything would rise from the ashes. Enter UFA.The remarkable pairing of downtown NYC musician, Adam Pollock, and electronic artist, James D'Adamo, UFA have spent a short time flying under the radar, preparing tounleash their pop revolution on a public that has no idea just how bored it is. Influenced by the seditious antics of The KLF, the cultural futurism of Bowie, the cynicism of Fritz Lang, and the aesthetic minimalism of Helmut Lang, UFA not onlysensed the inevitable collision of low and high art, they cut the brake line to insure its occurrence. Formed when Pollock, founder of the venerable rock group Bender and a fixture of New York's downtown music scene, united with art and media gadfly D'Adamo, bothagreeing on the tragic state of modern pop music. Trading musical ideas over the Internet, their high-tech collaboration resulted in several tracks that became cult hits indance clubs and on the web. In September 1999, Pollock and D'Adamo assembled the necessary supporting cast of musicians to bring their pop vision to life. The resulting EP, 2525 Millennium Megamix, caused a stir, not because it was innovative or original, but because it was -- in the middle of pop music's creative void - soimmediate and imperative. 2525 reached #1 on Amazon.com's Bestsellers Chart for Independent Dance Artists and reached #1 on PlayJ.com with over 50,000 downloads - besting suchestablished artists as Tina Turner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Beck.In 2000 to commemorate the first anniversary of the late John F. Kennedy Jr.'s death, UFA released the tribute single, "Happen To You", through an exclusivearrangement with Internet music giant MP3.com. Not surprisingly, the single immediately garnered controversial reviews in both the national and international press. For 2001, UFA is producing and writing material for YM Magazine's Girl-Band Project - a search for five future teen superstars that will be featured in a major "making theband" story in the summer issue of this 2 million circulation magazine. Fall will see the release of UFA's newest project, RONSON!, the world's first truly multi-media rockgroup fusing Japanese Animation, Glam Rock, High Fashion and the Internet.Say Pollock and D'Adamo: "Our plan is to infiltrate the music industry and re-create it from within -- We consider ourselves musical saboteurs."
