TERRY GLENNY is an Acoustic and Electric Violinist, Composer, Producer drawing upon varied influences to create new hybrid styles of music. The newest album, TRANSCENDENT, a blend of East and West stylings utilizes the talents of about 25 of his gifted musician friends to create a unique orchestral tapestry including full string orchestra, winds, percussion including Ron Wagner, an incredibly gifted Tabla player, and Bob Fernandez on assorted world percussion, and Tony Franklin (The Firm) on fretless bass. |

Artist History
TERRY GLENNYViolinist, Composer, ProducerTerry Glenny is a native of California with a background in classical violin from the age of 9 and composition from the age of 13. He is a multifaceted Violinist / Composer / Producer / Arranger having composed and produced soundtracks, albums and jingles. He has recorded a solo album entitled DREAM WORLD and is currently recording a new album entitled TRANSCENDENT. Terry has appeared as soloist with the ORANGE COUNTY SYMPHONY playing classical violin on the Mozart 4th Violin Concerto, rock Electric Violin in a Classic Rock program (including Purple Haze, Born To Be Wild, Nights In White Satin) and Orange Blossom Special Terry was a featured soloist on the 1998 GRAMMY-winning album TITANIC – MUSIC AS HEARD ON THE FATEFUL VOYAGE and last year was soloist and concertmaster for the Hollywood Symphony tour of Asia. He has also been Concertmaster for John Tesh's orchestra for a national tour with television appearances including the TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO and KTLA MORNING SHOW. He has also performed on the TONIGHT SHOW with GRAND FUNK RAILROAD, played in a band with ICE-T in the Prime Time television show PLAYERS, Fall '97 and gave an Irish fiddle performance in an Irish pub band on one of the last episodes of CHEERS.Terry is a regular Acoustic and Electric Violin soloist for FOX's prime-time show FUTURAMA as well as soloist on another of FOX's prime-time show’s, KING OF THE HILL and soloist / string arrangements for FOX's "MAD TV".A recording project took Terry to Switzerland in 1996 creating a world ambient groove CD entitled "Lingo" with ten musicians from around the world. He is a long time studio violinist with sessions for many major artists and innumerable other records, film scores, and commercials. He has played his custom-made five string electric violin with artists including Matt Sorum (Guns & Roses) Mike Pinera (Iron Butterfly, Blues Image), Abe Laboriel, Alex Acuna, Don Preston, John Cale, Tony Franklin (The Firm), Chris North (Ambrosia), and Bobby Kimball (Toto). Terry has also performed with Tony Bennet, Richard Carpenter (The Carpenters) and Jim Nabors.Violin studio experience includes recording sessions for Elton John, Vonda Shepard, Maria McKree, the band Naked, Luther Vandross, Frank Sinatra, Walt Disney Productions, Michael and Janet Jackson, the Ohio Players and has played on innumerable other records, film scores, and commercials. |
