Artist description
Quiet Rebel is my project, where I realize my musical ideas. I'm inspired by everything I hear, so the products differ in styles. At the moment I'm totally into electronic music. |

Artist History
Some times in 1997 I got my first pc, shortly afterwards I started making music.
As far as I remember I was interested in music; I learned to play the flute at the age of 6 and about 3 years ago I started playing the guitar. At home there are several music instruments lying around (piano, guitars, flute, trumpet, zither, ocarina, blues harp...) and it was just a matter of time, that I discovered the synthesizers.
I needed a name for my project, and because I am very interested in eastern mythology I named it "Karma".
Karma became Quiet Rebel in late 1999. First pieces were published on 22nd of January 2000.
Then I made some metal-inspired tracks, found on the cd "heavy session pt.1". An important moment was the discovering of tracked music. I was fascinated by the various possibilities, which can be made with a rather simple program (I use the "ModPlug Tracker"). So I started tracking...
First finished attempts were "Structure:Kaos" and "Song for Harakhti", which is still a personal favourite.
Some other pieces followed, and at the moment I try to merge electronic music with handmade music. I always wanted to break some conventions and reach the borders, I suppose, that's the logical consequence of that fact.
To me this is like exploring undiscovered fields on a land map; I start making a piece of music with some very small ideas in mind, but I never know, where it leads me, sometimes (or better: most of the time) it leads into a dead-end street, but often I'm really surprised of the final result.
So be prepared and "Face the Unknown |
