Artist description Finally! The debut release from Chicago's Premiere Power Pop Trio. These songs are designed for radio play there is no doubt about it. Can you imagine a mix of Material Issue with an edge of blink 182 and the emotion of the foo fighters? Yea me either! Well here it is in its entirety. This recording was done at short order recorder in Zion,IL where Local H and Material Issue did there demo tapes for the majors, that should say something about the quality of this record for sure. Since the release of this debut record Sketch middle has progressed and have written many new songs. Soon to appear on a compilation on the new indie label in the midwest *fallen*star*records* with other bands such as triplefast action, penfold and join'r. Artist History Although they have been playing together for 5 years SketchMiddles average age is just 19 years old. With their combinationof pop punk music to go with the sensitive but aggressive vocalsthe trio slowly but surely began to win fans over of all ages.Sketch Middle was formed in the fall of 1997. They immediatelywent into the studio with ex-Smoking Popes producer PhilBonnet to record a 6 song demo tape that the trio would giveaway at show to generate some kind of interest. With theirdemo tape and live pop hooks in hand Sketch Middle began toplay all the bowling allys, churches, parties, colleges, local andcollege radio and Chicago area clubs (Elbo Room, Thurstons,The Cubby Bear) that they could. After being on various compilations the trio decided to headback to the studio in the summer of 99’ to record there first fulllength cd with ex-Material Issue, Shoes producer Jeff Murphy toThe final productwould be called “Time Capsule” which is a collection of 10 songsthat speak of women, heartbreak, and insecurity.Sketch Middle didn’t have to look far for lyrical inspirationthanks to issues they face every day in college and life in general.
