Artist History
Vocalist Rob Colwell began Faithbomb shortly after the demise of his former band SIN for SIN back in 1996. SIN for SIN was asked to record a song for an upcoming Rowe Productions compilation CD, "Massive Frequency Overload" (MFO). However, Colwell moved back to Texas in 1996 and SIN for SIN faded away. Colwell wasted no time in calling up Chris Manning to begin work on a song for MFO. Manning called in a favor with his band mates to record the track for MFO with Colwell on vocals. Colwell dubbed the band Faithbomb and soon after the release of MFO people began asking about this new band out of Dallas.
Colwell and Manning set their sights on the debut full length Faithbomb CD and began writing and recording what was to become "The American Jesus". Mike Griffen and drummer Scott Carter, completed the band. Griffen and Colwell were ideal collaborators, while Manning added bass and guitar solos over Carter's thunderous drumming. The nine song effort was recorded at Bombworks Recording Studio in Texas and mastered by none other than Ty Tabor of King's X fame. "The American Jesus" was released in July, 1998 to rave reviews and international sales. The band has had tremendous support, selling CDs all over the world. Griffen moved on to join punk band Tsunami Bomb who are scheduled on the summer Vans Warped Tour and recently signed with Kung Fu records.
In the spring of 2002, the band was picked up by Quest Comics to be featured in an upcoming issue. Long-time metal label, New Renaissance Records, has taken on the band’s new album, “Bleed”. Faithbomb continues to perform live recently opening up for Disciple and planning to go out with Junker Jorg, Ultimautm, and Bio Genesis this fall.

Press Reviews
RIGHT NOW, forget everything you think you know about Faithbomb. Forget that you ever heard 'The American Jesus' whether you liked it or not. Four years after the release of their debut album, Faithbomb stands poised to rip your head off with a blistering album that will leave you wondering where this band's been all your life. What can I say? Yes of course as this is the very first release by my upstart record label Sounds of the Dead Records, I'm more than excited to see this CD actually come to life. Yet it's upon listening to it that my joy really overcomes me. I hear well structured modern metal (not nu-metal exactly as they do craft their groove) that is raw despite the excellent production, mean and stripped down. This is gritty southern grab you by the guts and kick your face in metal.
For the comparison section of this review I'll say this album highly reminds of the new Down album with obvious pieces reminding me of Pantera, Superjoint Ritual and elements of Steve Rowe in the vocals...well Steve Rowe from the days of say Bloodworld were his vocals were still good yet highly understandable.
Nec's right the only lyrics printed are selected lines from each song as the point was to make the listener curious about the exact lyrics of the songs and make them research it online. (The lyrics will soon appear on the Faithbomb website.) This CD is meant to be put into the mainstream market as much as possible and it looks like that is exactly what will be happening. On the merit of this album Faithbomb are as I type this in negotiations with New Renaissance Records who wants to pick up 'Bleed' and release it as their own album. This will give the band HUGE coverage in the mainstream world.
You also need to skate on over to the Faithbomb Website and be sure to drop Rob an e-mail asking to join their mailing list. That way if they need people to call local radio stations for airplay you'll know about it.
In closing I'd just like to add that when this CD debuted at Cornerstone people who heard it were stunned. I played it for people who hated their first album and they liked it. As I said at the beginning, forget everything you think you know about Faitbomb and look into 'BLEED' it's sure to impact you. D. LISTER - Deadzine Jul 2002
