Artist History
Justin Lassen is Digital Dirt Heads
Justin Lee Lassen, self-educated musician and composer from Phoenix, Arizona is taking the world by storm. Also known as "Digital Dirt Heads" (DDH), Lassen has developed his own musical genre he calls "dirtwave." Similar to an infusion of Blue Man Group, Nine Inch Nails, BT, Aphex Twin, and Danny Elfman, EMT's originality presents more than a passing fad.
Lassen, who has been creating art since he was a young child, adheres to hard work and persistence. Self-taught and self-motivated, his unique style and unfaltering drive affirm his potential as one of the most profound artists to dawn the 21st century. An accomplished remixer, Lassen has created masterpieces for such artists as Madonna, Garbage, Tweaker, Lenny Kravitz, and Majandra. In addition, he frequently develops compositions and soundtracks for film and other artistic projects.
DDH's songs deal with the universal issues of introspection, self-worth, disillusionment, and sadness. Drawing influence from history, myth, and his own experience, Lassen tests the bounds of the modern aesthetic while studying music that ranges from electronic, to industrial, to classical, and to pop/rock.
Though firmly entrenched in the music industry, Lassen's real love is for the silver screen. Lassen is an aspiring actor who would eventually like to produce and direct his own films. With his distinctive style and ambition for excellence, be sure to keep an eye on Justin Lassen and Digital Dirt Heads! Lassen's first full-length CD, "Scenes From Someone Else's Nightmare," is expected in Winter 2003.

"...I appreciate your music. It's substantial. I see all of your progress from the first CD to your latest... I totally dig your 'sticks and stones' EP. Really powerful. It has more of a message. There aren't many artists out there like you. a man behind the band sort of thing. Like nine inch nails. or Marilyn Manson. Or Dave Matthews. Or Prince. It's invigorating..Your remix for Garbage. Badass. Badass. This was a real treat for me. I agree with your remixing philosophy. You're the man, Justin. One of the most talented men I know. And I really hope you make it. You have the mind frame and the gut instinct and you definitely have the talent. And when you do get your deal and a CD in stores, man... you know I'll fucking support you. I'll go to all your shows and all your signings. I'll paint your name all over my body and run naked through your show and get arrested. Keep it up you hard working bastard mother fucker you..."
