Artist description We're a 4 piece guitar driven rock band from Tempe, AZ. The strong point of the band is the hooky, thought-provoking and non-filtered lyrics of Brent Babb backed up by the warm flowing harmonies of drummer Curtis Grippes.

Artist History Formed in the summer of 1989,the band enjoyed great success locally in the early nineties and was signed to the ill-fated Tag Records, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records in May of 1994. After an EP, River Otis and a full length release, 1001, the band opted out of it's contract in 1997 and immediately put out their own full length LP titled 'Old Favorites and New One Too'. At the end of 1998 and the departure of guitarist Steve Larson, Dead Hot pulled together for yet one more self-released LP titled 'Karma Covered Apple'. Months after Karma was released, long time bass player Brian Griffith parted ways with the band. The band has since recruited new guitarist Chris Whitehouse and bass player Steve Flores. The new Dead Hot has been in the rehearsal studio for nearly a year writing new songs and learning well over 100 original tunes in the Dead Hot catalog. Look for the band to be performing in this years SxSW 2000, and/or in a town near you.
