Artist History
teddybut is an old band. In ancient Egypt they were known as Ali Fahar the magical musicians. They popped up in Medevel times as a group of court jesters in the town of Fard, in lower middle England. Later in history Teddybut as a unit performed daring feats in many world wars, including the Battle of the Bulges. Of course, as you all know, Teddybut is now a rock band that tells the truth. |

Instant Funk. An upright Bass (or at least has that tone) that sounds like it's in your brain, plus a mean guitar that's got great tube-sounding distortion (but doesn't dominate the entire mix), plus a lead vocal that is clearly understandable and has a good tone, plus keyboards comping with a bounce, and a touch of tape hiss. Damn, you gotta love it. It's a pretty clear guess that these musicians had a good time recording this. Every little bit of sound has a cool tone to it, yet there's plenty of space for everything, and you feel like you're in the control booth listening as they throw it all down. Basic sounds all around, but quality recording all the same, regardless of how they laid it all down. I can't seem to offer any suggestions, becasue they seem to have it all going on already, so sorry fo rthe lack of constructive criticism. Pretty simple straightforeward lyrics tie it all together, not to mention funny. I just would not want to be the "man" they're talking about - I get the impression they don't like him much.

This song rocks guys. I am completely hooked in from the opening line which is all sorts of hilarious. And it only gets better from there. The music continues to rock my socks off. This is so groovy it's impossible to not like it. Anyone who doesn't is a complete idiot and needs to throw away their Tool albums. The production is fantastic and stands out during the chorus in particular where the piano can really be heard and also again at the bridge which has really nice vocal harmonies and a good little piano twill at the end. The outro is perfect summer driving music. Great job guys. This is definitely something that deserves more listens and an invetigation into what you guys are all about.

funktilacious urbanhippie romp...
tough, streetsmart design topped with a strong vox style and bursting with chefspecial instrumentation, particularly that ripping, finger-waggling-while-sitting-on-my-stoop guitar. a strong track whose arrangement walks very well through the fine line of linear necessity and innovative style. keep rocking and thanks for listening...
