    Artist description
Call him a techno rocker. Call him a pop singer. Call him a musical conceptualist. Call him whatever you want, as long as you remember to listen. "I try to write solid songs with positive spiritual and emotional content, songs that reveal more layers with each spin, and allow you to hear and experience things on deeper levels you didn’t realize were there". Stennar approaches style as something to be embraced and then surpassed. His songs shift gears easily, from the electro-teutonic sloganeering of "What You Don’t Know" and "Vigilant", to the twisted film-noir sound collage of "Wish", the swirling rock of "Evolution", and the death disco-tribal chant of newer tracks like "Branches of the Same Tree". He recombines musical genres like a 21st Century version of a mad scientist. As Stennar himself simply puts it, "I feel that every song goes in a different direction based on what feels best for it".

Industrial dance à la Jesus Jones and Pop Will Eat Itself, with Cult-esque hook lines and a pinch of Sisters of Mercy. This collection took me right back to my college years... strutting my stuff in the local nightclub... Very impressive... hooks aplenty... nice. Sublime dance/techno/electronica/pop- I'm an indie-rock chick at heart, so anything that contains a steady beat throughout rather confuses me BUT a friend recommended this and it's great. There's no real category it fits in (thus my one-line summary). Very cool; this music is original. Even better, the lyrics are really great. Sparse & beautiful. Buy this cd! Stennar should be heard! Upbeat rock/dance music with a serious attitude- If you like Nine Inch Nails but are sick to death of all the negativity that's so prevalent out there right now, then Stennar may be the album for you. A couple of the tracks (ie. the first couple) are very dance-y and hardcore, but the others, like "Shakytown", almost have a Cult-like, '80s feel to them. And then there's "Wish", which makes me think of spooky piano bar music. It's nice to hear that somebody is breaking new ground and NOT releasing a record where every track sounds EXACTLY the same. This is like a throwback to the days of David Bowie, or even a few years ago, when groups like Faith No More threw everything into the mix to see what came out. Maybe it won't appeal to the Britney Spears audience, but gee, isn't that a good thing?
