Artist History
Scott Laurent is no stranger to the Minneapolis music scene. Scott began playing "acoustic nights" at some of Minneapolis' most prestigious venues at the tender age of sixteen. In 1995 Scott Laurent and his band signed a deal with a regional independent label, OarFin Records. They released their first album, "Caposville", in March of 1996. Countless glowing reviews helped to solidify Scott Laurent as one of the Midwest's best new singer/songwriters.It was at the 1996 South by Southwest Music Conference that the band caught the ear of European music distributor Club De Musique Records. They later signed a European distribution deal, distributing their music in Italy, France, Spain and beyond. The follow-up to "Caposville", "Better Off", was recorded at Third Ear Studios (produced by Tom Herbers) in early 1998 and was released on May 1, 1998. In 1999, Laurent recruited a new line-up for his band after the departure of long-time guitarist, Brian Halverson, who joined the Honeydogs. The new band immediately began working on a new CD due out sometime in 2000.Visit Scott on the web at www.scottlaurentband.com |
