Artist History Ocean Sol's story began in February of 1999, where a group of high school friends hung out and jammed. They developed an accoustic style if for nothing other than a lack of soundproofing, and went without a drummer to appease nervous neighbors. Come mid-April, the band added a drummer and the transformation from weekend recreation, to an act that began drawing favorable reviews around the state, was completed. Shortly thereafter, the band released it's debut album, "Turn Around and Imagine It's You...", in June of 1999. The band went on to compete in the World Championship of the Perfoming Arts, that are held every four years in Los Angeles. The group took top honors in the Original Works category of the competition, for their song "Genius". The band returned home, where they are fine-tuning their sound, while playing shows in Detroit, Kalamazoo, Saginaw, East Lansing, and Ann Arbor.
