Artist description
K. HOODA picked up a harp in the late 50’s and started playing the blues. He was always inspired by trains, as a teenager he occasionally “road the rails”. His teenage friends all sang and played the blues and r&b. He soon got a “pawn shop” guitar and fiddle (which he promptly modified to his liking) and started playing those (he played slide with a metal lipstick cover). As a child he traveled all over the USA by bus and train. Those exposures can be felt in his rambling “made as you go” lyrics. He played house parties and small clubs. Some of his best audiences were his musician friends in the MusicIndustry. He always preferred “jamming” since he liked to create the lyrics as he sang, as he says “out of the clouds straight to you”. The present songs were carefully mastered from high quality analog master tapes (previously unreleased) in our computerized post production project studio. Every effort was made to leave the analog feel the natural echo and the “push fullness” he achieved on some of the sides. Some past quotes regarding his songs: “enigmatic”, “in the tradition of the beautiful poignant poetry of the blues”, ….“of clouds, rivers, fields, and journeys”. Some excerpts of his lyrics: “she done acting funny/aint got no more towns to go/ she gone to wait to sunset/just to find this day”.“over the wall/she’s not calling my name/in the sunrise/in the river bowl/saying why! Don’t! You! Call! ““there's only time/lady of the river/your son is coming/back from the journey/he's young again/not dead long/but soon forgotten/it's only time/ back again”“march down the river /see the wooden saint/aint got no sally/she gone this way/ I asked for water mama said “why now” / she said the river caught her in the morning”“Let it go/let it roll now/can you feel it/roll on the road/found out back there / rolling and riding/riding low/where she shines on.”We at INOVIA hope you enjoy the HOODA STYLE BLUES |

Press Reviews
...The lyrics seem surreal, poetic. hopefully these will be added to the beautiful blues poetry of the past. One example: " She's done acting funny, Aint got no more towns to go, She gone to wait to sunset, Just to find this day" Another example: " Marched down the river, See the wooden saint, Aint got no Sally, Shes gone this way" Hope this set will inspire you as itdid us." |
