Artist History Doug McCollum: Born and raised on the north side of Fort Worth... Texas that is...has established himself as one of Texas premierSinger/Songwriter/Producers with the release of his debut album Foxtrot Tango Whiskey.Foxtrot Tango Whiskey has already received local, national and now internationalmedia attention. It is currently receiving airplay in many markets as well asclubplay.The title song itself, Foxtrot Tango Whiskey, means Fort Worth.Every song was hand picked by Doug after months of writing and researchinghundreds of writers and thousands of songs from Nashville to Austin and all overTexas. Everything from modern country, with songs like Wild Hearts, to classiccountry like Singin’ The Blues. Doug has included up tempo, full productionnumbers like Deep In the Heart Of Texas(not the one you’re thinking), and Time,Tequila, And Lime, as well as haunting ballads like Closer To You.The instrumentation and arrangements that Doug has chosen are unique in everysong. Some are simple with only acoustic instruments, such as Texas Backroad Highway; a potential Texas Anthem,or the Cello on In Love In Tennessee. There is really no one word to describe Doug. His taste inmusic are as varied as his skills. “I love all kinds of music...as long as it is done well.”If I had to describe Doug, I would have to say he is one ofa dying breed. Doug is something you don’t find much ofanymore ; with everyone and everything becomingspecialized or generic.You already know Doug as a talented musician, singer,songwriter, producer. And as if that weren’t enough...Doug is also an actor, on Stage as well as inFilm, Television, Commercials, Industrials, Voice-overs; he has even done Stand-up Comedy.With all of this, I think it is safe to say...the only way todescribe Doug is as an Entertainer.Doug has done National Tours which took him to placeslike New York City, where he worked with such names asCyndi Lauper, Tommy Frenzy and Tuff Darts, and DaveLeonard and the Gist. After which, he returned to Texasand soon formed Easy Action, one of the earlier bluesbands now so common in this area. Doug has been in andout of studios for years, whether recording a jingle,someone else’s, or his own music. Recently, Doug hasshared the stagewith such Texas artist as Ray Wylie Hubbard, Dale Watson, Larry Joe Taylor, Tommy Alverson, and Mark David Manders.

Press Reviews Independent Country Entertainers Australia Crossing my desk from the USA is this release from Independent Texan Doug McCollum.You can almost smell the Texan soil and the heady aroma of the sea off the Gulf of Mexico. Doug's self-penned 'Jodie And Me' has an underlying message about how war can't be left behind. The title track - also written by Doug - Foxtrot Tango Whiskey (the call sign for Ft Worth) betrays his love of flying light aircraft.'Deep In The Heart Of Texas' (not the classic song) is a fun dancing two-step. 'Closer To You' and the classic 'Singing The Blues' are great. You can close your eyes and imagine the smoky bar-rooms of the Honkytonk saloons.'Time, Tequila And Lime' is one of my favorites on the album - a perfect foil for Doug's rugged Texan twang. It is a comical, catchy tune and I love it.The redneck quality is softened by gentle finger-picked acoustic guitar and the string accompaniment on the beautiful ballad 'In Love In Tennessee'. Doug has presented a fine album of well produced musicianship. Granted, his voice is not as fine and melodious as some, but he makes no excuses for this and does what he does well.Doug's strengths are with his Texan roots.
