Artist History
Didja ever get drunk and watch Jem and the Holograms? While your parents were throwing their money away on your tuition? Did you ever sober up at your english teacher's house, just in time for class? Do you like eggs? If you answered yes to at least one of these things, then you are probably already in BROTHER EYE! BROTHER EYE is a dynamic pop group with a sound that's creating quite a noise. Each member has a unique story to tell that would blow the collective mind of today's uptight generation. But that's not the point: BROTHER EYE makes records with a garageadelic power-pop sound. BROTHER EYE knows how to rock. And sometimes they do... Here's what happened: Dwight and Tony found Bobby with the aid of legendary Buzzcock Steve Garvey. They made the critically acclaimed record SOAPDISH ANTENNAE with producer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips/MercuryRev). Next, the band released it's hard to find holiday classic single, "Black Christmas" (b/w "Jesus's First Cavity"). The band is currently supporting their newest release, RADIO CONTROLLED DRUGS, available on the Bay Area indie label NOBODY RECORDS. RADIO CONTROLLED DRUGS is an ambitous step forward. Recorded during a maelstrom of medical and legal hassels, it nontheless crystalized the band's vision of what today's kids should be buying with that disposable income, instead of crack or shoes. It's an alt-rock love affair between Cheap Trick crunch and Pink Floyd atmospherics, a record that balances emotion and absurdity in equal measure. The songs are about hate, about love, about guilt and loss, about HAWAII 5-0. In other words, this record is about YOU! Amidst a hectic schedule of live dates, BROTHER EYE is gearing up to record their third album with producer Fridmann in Spring 2000. Look for BROTHER EYE's newest release at the home for GREAT independent music, Nobody Records...rainstation.com |
