Artist description
Anno Domini is one of Denver's few original progressive rock-metal bands. Combining the aggression and heavy sounds of eighties' heavy metal with the musical complexity of the progressive rock from the late seventies, the music makes for an interesting change from many other local acts. Always looking to expand our horizons, Anno Domini continually tries to find new beats, scales, chords, harmonies, etc. to make sure each song is not a copy of the last. With three melody instruments (two guitars and a bass), we make a real effort to give the songs "breathing room" by writing different parts for the instruments to play together, rather than constantly playing in unison. |

Artist History
Tim started the band in early 1996 and picked up Mark from an ad in a local music store. For the next few years, the band went through numerous lineup changes with different bass players, drummers, and singers. The band dissolved in 1997, but was reborn in mid-1998 after we decided it actually was worth the hassle of trying to put together a solid lineup. Eventually we lost our singer (same guy, again), decided we'd do the singing ourselves, found Ted through another music store ad, and promptly lost our bass player. We picked up Sean early in 1999, about the time we started recording our first CD, but soon after, lost our keyboard player. Since then the four of us have finally created a lineup that works. |
