Artist description Like most contemporary American musicians making a shaky living at creative music making, I’ve attempted so many forms and styles in such an array of venues, that I find myself hard to classify. I have elected to ‘hang my shingle’ on the classical block because I was classically trained (Boston Conservatory, ‘77) and know how to (literally) write music. The facet of my work that is most personal, and closest to an ‘individual style’ also turns out to be the most ‘mp3 worthy’: I refer to my solo piano improvisations. No score, no tune, no plan... “just a bunch of notes”, to cite my brother’s anaysis. So get that bubble bath running and try (twitch, twitch) to relax.

Artist History Born in Washington, DC, 1955. Piano with Robert Dumm (of “Pumping Ivory” fame). Graduated 1977, Boston Conservatory of Music (BM composition/piano). Extensive work with dancers and dance theater. Fond memories as former member of Dwight Frizzell’s Black Crack Review (ca. 1980-1985), a Kansas City based ‘avant cosmology extravaganza’. Currently serving as staff musician and sound designer, University of Illinois, Department of Dance.
