Artist History
The magic began when Banish got his first guitar at age 6, and his passion to perform still burns brightly 25 years later. In between, he turned professional performer at 14, jammed with many legendary Chicago Blues musicians, studied classical guitar at Northwestern, earned top honors in solo competition, and after college, recorded and toured with the progressive-pop band, Security. Relocating to L.A. in 1988, and joining McCabe's in 1989, Fran created a stir with the blues-based groups The Elder Greens and Stung By the Gods. He also did stage and session work with The Williams Bros., and played lead guitar and co-wrote on Duncan Sheik's 1996 gold album. While continuing to contribute licks to commercials, film and TV soundtracks, Fran can be heard in a soon to be released feature film, "Across the Line," which also features music by legendary Charlie Daniels. |
