Artist description
The New Kings of Rock and Roll (Elvis has been dead a long time, and we figured the position was open). We use fully-tuned guitars, bass and drums to create noise. Then we sing over that noise. It's kind of neat, you should try it. |
 |
Music Style
A bit of everything...EXCEPT funk, groove, rap, hip-hop, synth-pop, goth, glam, bubble-gum, r&b, metal, industrial, techno, dance. None of that. Everything else, though. |
 |
Musical Influences
Beatles, Elvis Costello, Big Star, and other purveyors of finely-crafted pop music |

Similar Artists
Imagine Ringo Starr beating Peter Frampton over the head with a bunch of Badfinger 8-tracks. We don't sound like that, but it's an amusing mental image, yes? |

Artist History
Dotgirl's roots go back to the early '90s, when members Jim McMillan and Martin Burch played in The Large Hungarians. Dotgirl began in 1997 as a trio, became a quartet and was re-named Boxman in 1999, and re-assumed the name Dotgirl later that same year, for reasons that we COULD tell you, but then we'd have to kill you. |
