Artist History
The band features lead vocalist Diane Craig, a singer/songwriter living in the Houston, Texas area. And what a voice she has, “…pure as honey…”, “…smooth as butter…”! Craig and co-writer Don Woodson of Jasper, Alabama contribute five original compositions to the project. The unique musical style she has created reflects years of experience and a broad musical background.Instrumentation is led by mandolinist Ricky Rorex, an excitingly capable two-time Alabama champion and a winner of the national championships in Winfield, Kansas. Rick’s solid and innovative style provides an additional dimension to this highly energetic band.United States “Grand Masters Fiddle Champion” Daniel Carwile just downright kicks butt in every way it can be kicked. His skillful performance lends depth and power to the team. If you enjoy a good fiddle break this album is a must have!Kenny Smith, IBMA’s 1998 Guitarist of the Year plays lead and rhythm guitars. Most acoustic guitar fans need no introduction to Kenny as he’s making quite a name for himself these days and once you hear him play you’ll understand why. His guitar break on the lovely instrumental romp “Snow Shoes” is reason enough to add this CD to your collection.Doug Craig plays bass for the band. His years of experience, solid timing, and adaptability to new musical ideas provide the anchor necessary for a band of this style and caliber.Highly touted mandolin legend Ronnie McCoury (who’s won the IBMA mandolin title so many times we’ve lost track) makes a guest appearance on two cuts. Harmony vocals are provided by the brother and sister team of Jerry Wells and Reta Wells Ferrell. Together they offer unsurpassed vocal harmonies characteristic only of singers having years of practice in the family environment. |

Press Reviews
Craig and co-writer Don Woodson “…display a deft song writing touch which draws on an emotional range that younger songwriters would have trouble emulating and Diane manages to infuse them with more emotion and sense of real life than many songwriters” (Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine).“Not only are each of the band’s members masters in their own right, they have that rare quality where they really click together. What more than a singer with a unique voice and a line-up of top-flight pickers could a band need? Well this one has outstanding original material” (Howard Miller of the Huntsville Times). “…you should not miss this chance to see them on stage. This is contemporary folk music at it’s best.” (Huntsville Traditional Music Association News). “Obviously Bluegrass can be done without a banjo, and outside the traditional Bluegrass song selections. This CD provides a refreshing approach to many time-worn traditions, and should prove enjoyable to any Bluegrass/Acoustic music fan” (Brett Balch, BamaGrass). “The perfect example of what good acoustic music should be. Twelve cuts you’ll never tire of listening to” (Entertainment News). |
