    Artist History
Apes In Quicksand was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in January 1998 by the members wich still is the line-up. The guys had known each other for years before that and some of them have played together in various earlier bands. Apes In Quicksand have their major musical roots in the 70/80/90's heavier rock n´roll. Combinated with some pop/alternative/punk influences they have created a sound that may not be unique, but personal and hard to categorize. They have been described as anything from grunge to mod pop. What definitely is for sure and what really matters is that Apes In Quicksand are doing good songs with great melodies.

    Press Reviews
NO RIPCORD (UK): "Apes In Quicksand - Swedish rock band with ties!". From the moment I heard the name, I was intrigued. Apes In Quicksand are a 4-piece rock band from Sweden, consisting of Jimmy Stridh (Vocals/Guitar), Benny Eriksson (Drums), Mats Marschall (Bass) and Marcus Boholm (Guitar). Yeah, ok they wear ties when they play live, but we'll ignore that for now. Sounding not unlike a heavier version of two of Sweden's better musical exports, Fungus and the Wannadies, and also sharing a thing or two in common with Oasis, the Apes aren't doing anything we haven't heard before. What they are doing though, is making likeable rock songs with great melodies, that you want to hear again and again. And sometimes it's nice to hear that for a change! I can't recommend this band enough to be honest. Their latest single "Evil Me" is brilliant, and you can and should buy it from the bands official website. That's http://www.algonet.se/~hemulen/aiq.
