Artist History
ZUMA is a Oslo based pop group established by Alexander Stenerud (vocals/guitar) and Henrik Njaa (keyboards/programming). One could describe Zuma's music as popmusic with a hint of melancholy, with the emphasis on good melodies. This spring ZUMA will be recording for the record company Supernova, and a single will be released mid-winter. ZUMA made their debut on CD spring 1996 at NRK Petres release «Poprush vol. 1» with the tune «As It Was». Fall 1996 Zuma released their first single «Fall With Me». ZUMAs second single, «Inferior», was released august 1997. Singles were produced by Jimmy James, well known from Devotion and as DJ Hanza (d.a.c./Club-mix).Zuma has during the last year's venues proved their sound to be much broader than the 80's inspired labeling it got in the beginning of their career. Dj WeZterberg has also lent a hand in the process, and with the help of his breakbeat influenced style, Zuma punctuates their journey towards the musical millennium! Wezterberg and backingvocal/guitar-man Øivind Solberg, whom is adding even more power to the chords and melodies on both guitar and vocals, has been a integrated part of the Zuma-liveact. Zuma has grown to be a great live act, something that the plentiful and ever-expanding group of fans across the nation should indicate...Zuma has headlined most of the places of the capitol OSLO, including John Dee, So What, Smuget, Mandagsklubben and several festivals and showcases all around Norway. In addition Zuma has been the support act for many great bands including Cardigans, Bo kaspers Orkester, and not to forget the pop-icon Samantha Fox! |
