Artist History
Sweet Tea is the hottest up and coming band in Seattle. In little over a year and a half, the group has caught the attention of major area clubs and grown quite a following. Sweet Tea's music combines the sonic sensibilities of bands like Radiohead and The Police with the improvisational energy of groups like Phish and Dave Matthews, tying it all together in well crafted, hook driven pop songs. "Mosquito Bite", "E#" and "What a Shame"(from "Assembly", Sweet Tea's 1999 debut, and cornerstones of the Sweet Tea live experience) have been hits with fans at retail and internet sites. To date, the band has moved over 1000 copies of "Assembly" with the help of local independent and major chain stores(the album sold out consistently at Tower Records-Mercer location, being featured on the play station for over three months). Internet sites such as CD Baby, listen.com, mp3 and garageband.com have also been instrumental in increasing album sales. The band has had great support from local radio stations such as KNDD, KISW(receiving enthusiastic spins on the morning, drive-time show), KCMU and KBCS. And songs such as "Ain't goin' back" and "Miles Away"(from the upcoming self titled release due out this summer) have already established themselves as crowd favorites. |

"This Seattle band combines swirling psychedelic guitar sounds with angular pop melodies sung in a breathy tenor. Occasionally evokes Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd". --listen.com |
