Group Members
Eric Olson - guitars, vocals; Mike Nelson - drums; Corey Dotson - guitar, vocals; Nick Millward - bass, vocals. BAND HISTORY: Lower 48 emerged in the spring of 1999. Mike and Eric, having played together in other projects were looking to move their sound in a different direction. Scott Lockert joined them on bass and the band was born. "Monster Truck Rally" was recorded at Well-Wrought Audio, in the heart of Pioneer Square. Corey Dotson soon joined the boys to complete the band's sound with rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Work on their second album, "Ranchero" was begun in early 2000. To help capture Lower 48's characteristic guitar-driven sound, the band recorded the new album at Egg Studios in Seattle. Scott left to pursue interests in another band, and Nick Millward of Eightball Break joined the band on bass. |

Press Reviews
Hot damn, this redneck Americana drinkin' rock is a kick in the asphalt. Songs about flippin' the bird, CB hookers, and runnin' people over are simply made for the lawless highway. (Jeff Gilbert w/ Mansplat Magazine); Citing influences as varied as AC/DC, Supersuckers, Johnny Cash and the Replacements, Lower 48 may sound like they'd be tough to nail down. The truth is those influences are easily detected in all their songs. Big, meaty guitar riffs, monster truck love songs/murder ballads and whiskeyed vocals add up to a night of good rockin' and well-executed posing, which is always fun. (Listen.com) |
