Leaving: A Benefit Album for Victims of War and Natural Disaster This album was recorded in the spring on 1999 by various Boston based Muslim Musicians, with the hopes to raise money for the refugees from Kosava. However by the time the album was finished, earthquakes had hit Turkey, Chenchnya saw another huge refugee crisis, and on the story goes. Artist History
The artists involved come from many different continents, age groups, and musical styles. The common thread is that they all were residing in the Boston area at the time the CD was made. Thanks to the generous donation of studio time by Supersonic Studios in Cambridge MA, the artists came together over the course of two days and recorded the album. Bostons Muslim communitiy is steadily growing, and with it a rich and unique blend of Muslim Musicians. In addition to the cause that the album strives to raise money for, it also serves as an introduction to the richness of the Muslim Community. |
