    Artist History
Lazy Sundays does not limit itself to any one set style or genre of music. The majority of practice time consists of a few minutes spent on covers or originals that need touching-up for a show, and the rest of the time spent on creating/learning new originals. Originals are either written and introduced to the group by one member or materialize during practices or shows from improvisational "jams." Some originals may take the form of hard, driving rock, while others form into jazz and groove type feels. The band has a roster of over sixty original songs and chooses from a list of around thirty covers to play at shows. Originals vary greatly in style, with each one having a sound and feel of it's own. Most originals are written by one member of the band although many are credited to the band as a whole. Each member brings a different style to the group, all of us coming from different "musical" backgrounds and being influenced by different musicians and experiences. This interesting mix is what makes our music so original

Chad Bennett - From Roanoke, Virginia, Chad is the Bass player and has been with the group since 1996. Chad brings a very musical style to the band, being able to hear a couple notes of a song and from that point on lay down a bass line that fits perfectly. Chad has also written a couple of originals for the band.Email Chad: chad@lazysundays.comAdam Bryant - Dubbed the "Lord of Thunder" by his fellow musicians, Adam's job as the drummer is to provide the solid foundation on which the other musicians design and present their artwork and enhance the style of the piece with intricate yet grounded rhythms. Adam joined the group in October of 1997.Email Adam: adam@lazysundays.comJoey Philpott - Front-man, rhythm guitarist, lead songwriter and vocalist, Joey is also from Martinsville, Virginia where he founded Lazy Sundays. Joey cranks out genius lyrics and music like no one else can. It is to Joey that we owe the fact that out of over sixty originals, almost all have a completely different feel and sound. Joey also acts as the coach, getting everyone excited and energized about upcoming shows as well as making sure each band member is giving their 200%.Email Joey: joey@lazysundays.comRoger Wilkerson - Roger is the main melody man, playing lead guitar and doing a damn fine job of it. Roger's solo work and intricate guitar parts apply the final twist that makes Lazy Sundays' original sound. A big fan of Southern rock and roll, Roger takes that influence and weaves it masterfully into the bands more progressive rock sound. The newest addition...Roger joined in 1998.Email Roger: roger@lazysundays.com
