Artist History Beginning at the age of 4, playing piano, Eric has accomplished a lot in his short 22 years. Writing his first song at the age of 6, and since then writing over 500 songs, Eric takes strong pride in his songwriting ability, now focusing on playing, writing and producing all his music. The writing is usually inspired by things that happen to him, or to close friends. “If somebody close to me is telling me what happened to them that day, they might not know it but they’re helping the writing process. Their lives are usually more interesting then mine.” Playing in many rock bands over his career has given him the live experience and on stage presence that only few possess. Playing over 200 shows in various live venues across Canada, Eric has had the opportunity to open for such greats as Avril Lavigne and Not By Choice. Eric was also part of Shania Twain’s band during her 1998 tour. “Nothing gets me going more than playing live, I have a certain intensity when I see the crowd, and they want me to give them a good show. If I could choose playing live or recording for the rest of my life, it would be a hard choice, but I’d choose playing live.” As far as his demos are concerned, he wants to be 100% involved in the process. “At this point I’m simply recording demos to help me get noticed in the industry, so if write them, play every part on them and produce them, it’s nobody’s fault but my own if I fail”. Eric is currently seeking to furthur his career using the skills he has learned in school. “I took radio broadcasting in college, and music at university. Between the two, I feel I understand music, and the music industry, to succeed.”
