Artist History
EGG’s second CD, Waiting For the Big One, provides a glimpse to what die-hard EGG fans have already known for years. The funky grooves of drummer Steve Maloney and the rock-solid chops of bass player George Abercrombie connect with the passionate vocals of front man Chris Crowley, and the melodic songcrafts of guitarists Tim Schanne and Dan Thomas. The band’s combination of powerful rock anthems, and danceable pop with an edge, yield a unique blend of songs. EGG’s infectious live shows demonstrate that the band is poised for action. Their explosive stage presence tantalizes the audience, often capturing new fans along the way. Their command of the stage gained the attention of the Aladdin Fellowship in 1994, who booked the band for a performance at Radio City Music Hall for the Make A Wish Foundation. Since then, they have headlined along the Jersey Shore, as well as many high-profile venues in the Philadelphia area. Even though EGG cites R.E.M., The Beastie Boys, and Bruce Lee as some of their influences, no one has quite been able to pinpoint who they sound like. Through memorable melodies and diverse influences, they have truly developed a sound that they can call their own. |
