Artist description
The voice of Cara Jones is well known in Japan and increasingly, around the world. Born in Philadelphia, Cara left her hometown to study Japanese at Harvard, and her interest in the language and the Japanese culture led her to move to Tokyo in 1991. Since then she has released three albums: Different Skies, Pandora's Box, and the new album, NOW, with three singles breaking the top 40. In addition to writing and recording numerous songs for others (Japanese artists such as The Yellow Monkey, Zabadak, and Yusa Mimori; internationally-released Playstation and Sega game soundtracks, etc.), her voice has been heard on countless TV and radio commercials. For eight years she was a regular on the popular FM station J-Wave as the host of the nightly "Tokio Cold Cuts" and the weekly "The Essential Love Collection", and she was heard around the world as the voice of the award ceremonies at the 1998 Winter Olympics at Nagano. Other highlights include a radio series opposite Barry White, TV commercials for Toyota with Christian Slater, and more.
In May 2001, Cara became a finalist in the Women of MP3.com song contest with the last track on the new album, "Settle For Love", which stayed in the top10 for weeks, hitting #1on MP3.com AAA/Alternative chart on May 7th!!!
Cara's third album "NOW" is available worldwide online, and is coming soon to a CD store near you! |
