Artist description
The Burning Rubber Icons have forged their own unique dance-rock style which layers melodies influenced by Pop and Rock over a backbone of Breakbeats and Techno. Tom’s flair for the guitar combines with Dale and Taröpeg’s programming and Anna’s’ dark vocals to produce a full sound with kicking beats, twisted sounds and catchy tunes. |

Artist History
The Burning Rubber Icons have been breaking beats and styling their sound since July 1998. Initially the band was centred around the two programmer/ vocalists, Taröpeg and Daley G.. After working with Rankin Jack, a keyboardist, they were joined by Tommy T., a guitarist interested in funk, metal and techno, and by Anna Ayuda, a vocalist specialising in sultry smooth grooves.Daley G. has worked in several areas of music; playing bass in Gross Injustice and doing vocals for Voice of Reason, who released a compilation album with Gizz Butt (The Prodigy and Janus Stark) and Road Rage. He has done promotion and video work for bands including Chumbawumba, Conflict, and Blaggers I.T.A.. He is also an accomplished painter and illustrator of books and records. Taröpeg played keyboards in Angelpoise, collaborated with Plastic Passion and has worked on a number of solo projects. He is also a director and producer of short films. Anna Ayuda sung with Coolus Maximus, a funky jazz band, and with Saigon Jazz; a band with a large following in Vietnam drawing crowds as large as 5,000. She has also acted in television adverts, organised fashion shows for Arena Models and danced with Malaysian traditional dance groups. Tommy T. is a self-taught electric guitarist of ten years experience. He has played in many live bands, including The Holy Men of Cornwall, Scrappy Manacle, and Breeze. His interests have developed from rock to Jazz funk and he has also worked with singers on solo pop projects. |
