Artist History
Boston Retroactive is a compilation containing some of the bands that made the underground Boston music scene such a powerful moving force and influence n the 80's and 90's. One Way Productions is a Boston Independant Label and production company fromed in 1984 to record Boston's underground music in the Punk, Ska, Metal, and Rock catagories. Enigma/Capitol, TAANG!, American Music, OY! Records [Europe/UK], Nasty Vynal [Germany] have all released material either produced by One Way Productions or currently in relase from us. One Way Productions has directly released the following bands and artists on our own label: THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, THE OUTLETS, SHAKE THE FAITH, LEFT NUT, 10 STAR GENERAL, THE SEXTONS, LAST STAND, NATALIE FLANAGAN, and JOHN FELICE OF "THE REAL KIDS". Despite our underground and independant status we have produced: [a] 2 Boston Music Award winning albums: [1] DEVIL'S NIGHT OUT by THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES released on TAANG! [and we were also the 1st to record The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and release their music], [2] SHAKE THE FAITH's self-titled album. [b] 1 Billboard recommended album: "WHOLE NEW WORLD" by THE OUTLETS on Enigma Records; [c] 2 Maximum Rock & Roll recommended albums by LAST STAND "FAITH IN FATE" and "APPROVED CUTS" both of which were fully included in the 20 song LAST STAND European release BOSTON CALLIN' which is now available in the United States. The songs on this record contain the first recording by THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, material recorded by John Felice before THE REAL KIDS latest releases [and "Looks Like Good-bye" is a duet between John Felice and Kelly Knapp of THE BRISTOLS and THE DARLINGS [winner of a NASHVILLE MUSIC award], 4 songs from THE OUTLETS 18 song release "I REMEMBER", 3 songs chosen from LAST STAND's 2 Maximum Rock & Roll recommended albums [and included in "BOSTON CALLIN'"], and Robin Vaughan and THE SEXTONS [THE EX-GIRLFRIENDS & VEVETEEN]. |
