Artist History Altamont contains distillations of many of the best: The Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, Spaceman 3, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, and even the Stones. Clearly, though, this debut effort by former Dandelion(Columbia Records) songwriter/guitarist Carl Arden posseses its own shining identity.Dandelion received lots of positive press in publications like BILLBOARD,ROLLING STONE,GAVIN,CMJ, and many others. Arden has kept the Philadelphia foursome's groove alive, but has developed a sound more thoughtful than Dandelion could muster. With years of touring, and production of hundreds of bands in his hip pocket, Arden has the background and knowledge to allow his own style to take center stage without sacrificing musical integrity. On Altamont's dedut, Arden's prowess is proven with beautiful production, interesting lyrics, and simply, GREAT SONGS.
