Artist History A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Preston Girard moved to Chicago to pursue acting in 1997. When he finally picked up the acoustic Washburn he bought back in 1992 and learned how to use it, however, new artistic opportunities opened up. A few years and a lot of hard work later, he recorded a demo of original songs. In the beginning, he set the music he wrote to his father's poetry, who now writes suspense novels, but these days he comes up with his own lyrics. His new 11-song CD, "Simple Life", was released in March 2002.
