Artist History
Mojo Hand was formed in 1995 and started out as a cover band that drew its influences from blues/soul classics. In the beginning, the band played mostly standards and no original material. A lot of the stuff they played was from Texas, mainly the repertoire of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert Collins. And even if they weren't playing their stuff, they tried to make the songs sound Texan. But there always was a fair mix of other blues and blues-related styles to give the set a little variety. In late 1997 Mojo hand started working on their own material and the first song was recorded in December 97. In February 1999 Mojo Hand recorded the material for the first album. It was planned for release in fall of 1999, but the vocalist moved away and the band decided to wait with the release. Since March 2000 the band has had a new (female) vocalist, Azra Alibegic. Azra is young, taleneted and soulful. |
