Artist History
EDGAR was formed in Orange, Massachusetts during the late summer of 1996 from a group of high school friends. After some lineup changes, the band is now complete with Jason Gabrenas on drums, Corey Eckert and Nick Vautour on guitar, Jordan Hakkinen on vocals, and Brandon Eckert on bass. They have performed countless times at numerous venues since then, and are known for an energetic stage presence that their audiences can't seem to ignore. Now EDGAR has a very well rounded sound that can best be identified as hardcore metal. They have been constantly promoting their name in the New England area, and nationwide, through their website and mailing list. During that time, they have subsequently released a two - song demo tape that sold over 400 copies in six months, and a full - length CD that has been receiving great reviews and widespread radio airplay. They have a track on the Xact Records compilation "Dot Comp", with other New England bands such as Colepitz and Eastcide. The band has also acquired a clothing sponsorship from BaXide apparel, making them one of only two unsigned bands to be associated with the company. In 2001, they have been making progress by being selected to perform at a NEMO showcase in Boston, and by opening for Slaves on Dope at UMASS Amherst. They are now widely expanding their fan base by touring throughout New England, and are making a name for themselves in the highly competitive heavy music scene. |

Press Reviews
It will not surprise me if some "major" snaps these guys up.... (then again it will probably be the other way around) these guys play tight live and have the f**#king talent to lay it down in the studio....EDGAR is not for pussies!!! This is some serious heavy s#@t... just the way I like it....-Mike Haze 99.3FM WLZX Lazer 99.3 WLZX FM Northampton - SpringfieldAt first glance, Orange (just off of 2A) is a cute lookin' New England small town featuring some of the best antique stores around. More hidden is the region's battle to recover from a steady loss of jobs, a hellish drug problem, and the kick-ass hard metal of Edgar... Led by the growling Jordan "J-Dogg" Hakkinen (who really does sound like one of those guys who eats raw meat for breakfast), their self-titled debut snarls at those who "Criticize Me" and tells their fans to "Suck It Up," while their latest single, "The Resistance" has been getting regional airplay...
