Artist History
A chance meeting in May 1996 at the popular "open mike" series held at San Francisco's Cafe International brought Royal Kent and Wendy Loomis together for the first time. Soon after, they decided to join creative forces and Copus was born. After months of intensive collaboration between composer and poet, auditions were held and the project was expanded to include cello, flute, percussion, and drums. Copus has found diverse audiences of all ages in small theaters, performance venues, festivals, and clubs and has attracted a loyal following around the Bay Area. |
