    Artist History
NATIVE AMERICAN ROOTS music with THE SNOQUALMIE TRIBE AND ROBERT ANTONE: Take a subconscious journey through the history of the Snoqualmie Valley. Local tribal musicians teamed up with musicians from our local communities to celebrate the heritage and history of North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City, Carnation, Snoqualmie Pass, and the greater Puget Sound This project was started in 1997 and took 2 years to complete. So far, the Snoqualmie Tribe has received about $500 dollars from the sales of this CD. This money was used to buy drum materials to make new drums for the tribal musicians. Tribal musicians were also paid for their services during the recordings and some five performances. Keep the Snoqualmie spirit alive and buy this CD. The money generated will go back into making more copies of this CD and some of these copies will be donated to the tribe for their own sales. We would also like to record more Snoqualmie tribal music. A-R-F. is not funded by grants or federal money. All projects are funded by private sources and by sales of the recordings.RIVER OF TEARS: Take a listen to the heart of a Vietnam veteran. Glenn Vosper took songs that had been sitting around in his guitar case for 15-20 years and finally recorded them. With the help of other musicians Glenn expressed some of his deepest emotions. There are love songs to his wife, songs about the good old days before Vietnam, songs about the joys and frustrations of his job, and songs about Vietnam. Glenn produced this album financially and he also came up with the overall sound of each song. With Glenn as the director, musicians had to match the styles that he had envisioned for this album. To create a contrast, songwriters Bob Antone and Nitai Terhanian added their own songs to the album mix. These songs reflect more contemporary life experiences. Bob Antone reflects on his divorce from his wife and watching friends who have trouble facing their fears resulting in drug addiction and/or suicide. Nitai Terhanian has fought and overcame his own personal battles surrounding fear and self-doubt and his song gives advice to people facing trauma in their own lives. Since completion, this album has been therapeutic for Glenn and his family.RATTLETRAP BABY: Bob Antone-guitar and vocals. John Antone Sr. - railroad stories. This is a recording full of traditional American mythology surrounding the railroad. John Antone Sr. spent three years during the Great Depression traveling around the Northwest and the Midwest on Trains. In the 1950's he worked for the Milwaukee railroad for five years. Bob Antone, John's grandson, sings six traditional railroad songs and six original compositions in celebration of this heritage. One of these songs was taught to Bob by his grandfather and was learned durnig the 1930's in John's hobo years.THROUGH GOOD TIMES AND THROUGH BAD: Bob Antone-guitar and vocals. John Antone Sr., Ella Antone-praying the rosary samples. This recording tells a contemporary tale of love won and lost in the small, strange and character-filled towns of Issaquah, North Bend, and Snoqualime. Visit the local trailer parks. Find yourself in a nightmare with spirits and happenings from other places. Drug dealers, heroin junkies, a bank robber, the bank robber's violent brother, a schizophrenic artist with a masturbation problem, a severed hand found in the woods, custody battles, etc. And what's better is that it's all TRUE.
