Artist description
fetish was conceptualized in 1996, and brought to life in early 1998. Since the first power switch was thrown to its electronic backbone, fetish has been forging itself into the dark energy that is spreading across southern California.
fetish bears native Detroit influences of techno and machined noise, intertwined with the dark undercurrents of the Tampa gothic underground. The rhythmic crossbreed injects a fresh sound into the growing industrial scene. Within this dark tapestry of sound, influences as varied as KMFDM, God Lives Underwater, Garbage, Portishead, Battery, Skinny Puppy, Chroma Key and Zombie(Rob/White), can be heard.
"If there’s one thing we've learned that we cherish, it's that we know we’re not the only ones who spends their day focusing on some twisted or perverse thought. Most people are just too afraid to
admit it. Once you know that about everyone, that's very powerful therapy. fetish is that therapy. Pondering things like sex and suicide isn’t inherently bad. Common society has just convinced you it is. There are right and wrong reasons for everything in this world."
